A few weeks ago Caleb bought a hammock on clearance at work. He got it put up and Liam loves it!
Discussing squirrels.
Want to know what else Caleb has come home with from work? A 25 pound box of peanuts. He got it for free from work. Now anyone who stops by our house gets offered a gallon sized bag of peanuts. If anyone is craving peanuts, you know where to get them!
Liam and I wrote a card to my grandparents. He took one side and I took the other. Then he wanted to decorate the envelope. Disney had just sent us stickers for the bajillionth time trying to get us to sign up for something.
Amy got engaged!
Yay Yay Yay!! Amy and Jim are officially going to make it official! :-)
Look at that beaut!
Liam likes practicing being a ring bearer. I promise he will wear pants at the wedding.
It was finally cool enough that my bitty boys and I were able to go for a walk. It still got a little warm and after a mile and a half they were both ready to go home. We did find several caterpillars though. Despite hating creeping crawlies, I tried to be a good mom and let Liam look at it. If I was a cool mom I would have let him keep it and watch it turn into a butterfly. Instead I just put it back where I found it. Christa told me that I should have gotten all of them because they turn into Monarch butterflies and lots of teachers are looking for these kinds of caterpillars right now for their classrooms. Oops! I'll know next time I find some.
Amy had told me about one of her friends who lives in Columbia who has kids close to the ages of my kids. She is a sweet Christian lady and she hosts a play group at her house every few weeks. This week she had everyone go to a park made for toddler sized kids that is down the street from her house. We went there and had a good time. Liam still wouldn't go down the slide after his traumatic experience at the zoo, so I had to keep a close eye on him because he kept trying to get off of the jungle gym at the spots that aren't made for going down. Also, there were big rocks he kept trying to climb up and those led to a playground at an elementary school.
Thursday Christa had the family over to her house for a bonfire and dinner. After dinner we all went back inside and some of them got out instruments and played and sang for awhile. Liam was tickled to get to play in their giant playroom full of toys he isn't used to.
The boys all watching Wall-e. Why? I dont know. I don't understand how anyone can like that movie.
My parents came in town for the weekend. Saturday afternoon we left the boys with them and Caleb and I went on a date! Ok, not really a date, but we did get to go to Columbia by ourselves. Christa was having some complications with her bun in the oven and they were keeping her for a few days to monitor her.
That same evening we went on date number 2! There was a benefit in town for a family that goes to our church to help cover their growing medical expenses. There was a talent show, silent auction, and concert. We had a good time, even if we didn't win anything at the auction. :-)
One night I was outside with Liam and I could hear a football game going on. I came inside and told Caleb that Liam and I were going to go for a walk and see if we could find where to game was and see if one of the boys from our church was playing. Caleb said he and Cade would come too. We got there at the perfect time right as the boy from church was about to start playing. Liam had never been to a football game before, but he sure enjoyed cheering!
Cade and Liam got to see their buddy, Jacob, at the game.
So intent on the game.
Some more random moments from the past few weeks:
My sleeping wild thing
This outfit! I love it!
Liam loves to go outside and check on his "Bobs".
I don't remember what this was about.
Liam was practicing "praying"
Liam's interpretation of a fish. It looks more like a kissy face.
My two year old fits in the bumbo better than my two month old. Cade's thighs are too chubby. His head is also still a little too wobbly, but that's what happens when your head is in the 90th percentiles for your age. I've been reading about how they really aren't that good for baby development anyway so I guess it's not a huge deal if he outgrows it before he can use it.
After I pried Cade out, Liam came and plopped right down. He could even stand up without being stuck (even with his cloth diaper padded bum) Side note, my kids wear disposable diapers whenever we leave the house. Liam's 18 month pants that fit him with a cloth diaper fall off when he wears a disposable, so he's still wearing his 12 month shorts. Cade has also started fitting into some 12 month clothes, just a handful of onesies and some overall outfits. I chuckle to myself when my 2 month old and my 2 year old wear the same size clothes at the same time.
My little Charlie Brown. I couldn't get very good pictures because Liam was in a sour mood and was not happy that Cade had his Snoopy. You know, the Snoopy that he never cares about until his Bubba has it and then it becomes his pride and joy.
Trash Truck Fridays. Liam is in love with the trash truck.
Cade is such a smiley and happy baby. He loves to smile and coo at us. Also, we had to switch to cloth diapers. I was having to change him anywhere between 10-15 times a day. These cloth are a little more absorbent so he's not always fussy because of having a wet diaper. Cloth diapers definitely save money, but some days I feel like all I do is deal with poop.
These two are a couple of my favorites.
Woody needs nourishment too, ya know.
When Liam got up the other day his stuffed animals were ever so nicely tucked in for a nap.
The brains behind Caleb's sermons.
This sweet baby. I love snuggling him.
Those eyelashes!
Caleb got us an apple peeler the other day. I hope I have all of the necessary supplies.
Every family has their weird quirks. Growing up we always liked to eat our applesauce by scooping it up with pringles. It's still my preferred method for eating apple sauce. Of course Caleb thinks I'm off my rocker when I eat it that way, but the other day I gave Liam a bowl of applesauce and he wanted a pringle to go with it. He proceeded to scoop his apple sauce out with the pringle instead of his spoon. I'm such a proud mama.
Cade has had a few days where his normally happy self was slightly more fussy. I'm not complaining because I know it could be A LOT worse and I don't mind occasional reminders to sit and enjoy extra snuggles while my babies are still babies. I was holding him trying to calm him down but it was right when Liam was eating lunch and I needed two hands to get him cleaned up and out of his seat. I laid Cade down for a minute while I helped Liam. I laid him on the memory foam rug in the kitchen so he could still see me. Within a few minutes, he was OUT! I guess it's a pretty comfy rug!
We have only gotten one purple pepper off of our plants this year, but we have a couple more that have popped up!
He's so precious. I love sneaking in his room when he's sleeping. :-)
Liam was too busy checking himself out in the mirror to go get in his seat.
Those cheeks. Those eyes. That fuzzy head. That nose. Why is he growing up so fast??
On a very happy note, at 11 weeks Cade has started sleeping THROUGH THE NIGHT (9-10 hours). I've been getting 8 hours of beautiful uninterrupted sleep.
