So about the past 3 and a half weeks. I did manage to write in my planner blog-worthy things each day so I wouldn't sit down to write this and draw a complete blank. I'm also going to type as fast as possible because I currently have ONE HOUR HOME ALONE. That means time all to myself. The house is quiet. It's a wonderful thing and I have the best husband ever.
Oct 30-Nov 1
I updated the first half of this week last time because we had been at the Missouri Baptist Convention.
Thursday
Liam got sick with a cold. Caleb had one at convention and Liam had been battling a running nose for weeks, which I think is due to teething, but it turned into nasty green snot. I got lots of snuggles out of it though! He also cut two more teeth too. We're up to 8!
He actually started to let me suck his snot out willingly with the snot sucker. If you have snotty kid and don't have a battery powered aspirator, GET ONE.
I also realized that I left Liam's beloved new sound machine at Caleb's parents' house. I wanted to kick myself. And a cat.
Liam took it upon himself to unpack his bag from the week.
And we finished the evening watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown special.
Friday
Liam had a follow-up dermatologist appointment. Guess what? I learned nothing new. Again. His widdle toe is still healing but very slowly. The doctor said to come back in 3 months if it wasn't better.

After we left there Liam and I went shopping. We even stopped by the pet store and got Oscar some groceries. Liam has been more fascinated with Oscar lately so I thought that some fish would be a good addition to the aquarium. When I let the fish out of the bag I had Liam next to me so he could watch Oscar chase them. One of the fish was dying and Oscar came up and gobbled it right up. Liam just sat there and watched and then had even more interest in watching Oscar.
Also while we were out shopping I got Liam some of those food pouch thingys. They are too expensive for me to buy on a regular basis but when we are out shopping and have lot of stores to hit, those are wonderful so he can eat without making a big mess and I can get through more stores without him getting hungry. Well I learned a lesson. Never give a 14 month old one of those things in the backseat unattended. At the last store we stopped at I went to get him out and EVERYTHING was covered in nasty baby food goop. If you know Liam at all, you know that he loves to eat, so I thought he would have just sucked that thing dry as soon as I gave it to him. Nope. Lesson learned. I hope Liam learned too because it was about 40 degrees out and as windy as could be and I had to strip him down in the van with the door open.
Friday night was Halloween! We had a trunk or treat shindig at church and it was approximately 2 degrees outside (give or take about 30) and It. Was. Cold. Liam and I hung out inside in the nursery. We seem to do a lot of that every time we are at church. Anyway, a family from church gave Liam a hand-me-down giraffe costume. It was just a smidge too big, but considering Liam's love for giraffes, it was perfect.
Saturday
Seth, one of my three favorite brother-in-laws, was such a peach and met up with Caleb in Columbia after Caleb got off work to give him our sound machine and also Caleb's cell phone charger that he had accidently left too.
We also paid rent. Oh wait, that wasn't written in my planner for this blog...
Week of November 2 - November 8
Sunday
My parents came to visit Liam. They had recently taken a trip to Branson, which is another way to say that they went shopping for baby clothes. Boy howdy did they buy baby clothes. My mom brought a huge bag of clothes and they are all so stinkin adorable.
Monday
With this past weekend being the time change, it really threw Liam for a loop. He miraculously went back to taking two naps each day this week. :-)
Since I wasn't expecting him to want another nap, when he came and snuggled up in my lap I was enjoying it greatly. Then I looked down and found him like this. Asleep with his toothbrush in hand.
Tuesday
Liam and I went and voted!
Also, we keep finding huge flying cricket spider-like things in the house. I don't know what they are but they are but they are about the size of my head (or actually about 3-4 inches long) and I've found about a million of them in our house (or about 6). It never fails that I scream every time I find one. One morning Liam was in his high chair and he kept pointing at something in the kitchen. I told him that he needed to eat his breakfast and there was nothing he needed in the kitchen. Eventually I looked in the kitchen since he wouldn't stop pointing because I was trying to see what he wanted. Sure enough, one of these monsters was casually walking across the kitchen floor. The worst one was one night I walked into the kitchen and I guess one of these boogers was hanging out on the ceiling and when I turned the light on it startled it and it fell to the floor then hoped away. Of course every time I have to kill one of these myself when Caleb isn't home I then feel like I have bugs crawling all over me. Blech.

Friday
My charging port on my computer had officially bitten the dust so I took it over to the computer shop here in town. The guy told me it would cost $95 to fix. -_- The biggest bummer is that I'm really bad about backing up my files on my computer so pretty much Liam's life pictures are on that computer. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get those off of the hard drive. I still have all of the photos on my phone and facebook and this blog have lots too, but I don't post all of the pictures that I take. Anyone know a good techy guy?
Friday morning the cat brothel under our house was apparently open for business. There's a missing brick under our front porch and the cats come in through there. Caleb was going to try to fix that hole one other time, but when he was looking at the bricks a little kitten head popped up and greeted him. On Saturday Caleb tried to go fix the problem using some chicken wire (and hoping that there were no cats currently under the house) but he didn't have much chicken wire left and wasn't able to secure it as much as he had hoped. A few days later we noticed that the wire had been busted through. :-(

Week of November 9-15
Sunday
Liam actually made it all the way through Sunday School and church, except for Caleb's closing prayer, without having to go to the nursery! I realize he is only 14 months old and 14 month olds are curious and don't like to sit quietly, but I like being able to sit in the service and not have to go to the nursery constantly with him. I'm ready for our church to have more kids so we can have a nursery schedule!
Probably his good behavior was due to this adorable outfit that he was wearing.
This week we had a revival scheduled at church so Caleb took the week off from Orscheln to be able to have more time to prepare for each night. It was great having him home for a few more hours each day.
Tuesday
Liam was "helping" Caleb study.
Wednesday
I was trying to get Liam to come into the dining room so he could eat dinner and he somehow didn't see the door frame and smacked right into it. :-( My little cookie was so tough and didn't remember his owie anymore after I gave him a Ritz cracker.

Friday
Nehemiah turned 4! Since we were having revival this week at church and couldn't make it to his birthday party, we met up with Christa and both boys at Steak n Shake. We got him a Cars character that he had been wanting and then I found some giant Spiderman coloring pages. He was having a spiderman birthday party so I thought they were perfect.
Friday night Caleb met up with his dad and they slept in his dad's truck so they could get an early start hunting on Saturday morning. Around 9am I got this picture from Caleb's dad!
It's an 8-pointer but Caleb said it was big for only having 8 points. He processes it all himself so he didn't get it weighed but he weighed one of the back legs after he had skinned it and it was 20 lbs and one of the front legs was 12 lbs. That kind of gives you an idea of how massive it was. Caleb was telling me that his dad shot several times at the deer but it was chasing a doe and had one thing on it's mind and didn't even seem to realize that Tim was shooting at it. Then it ran in front of Caleb and Caleb unloaded his gun on it, had time to reload, and shoot a few more times at it. He said it ended up getting hit 4 times before it went down. Our freezer is going to be well stocked with ground deer this year. :-)
Meanwhile, Liam and I held down the fort at home watching Lilo and Stitch. (One of my favs!)
Week of November 16-22
Sunday
Liam turned 15 months old!
Monday
Liam had his 15 month check-up. Of course lately he has been getting up around 7 am, but the day that we need to be out of the house by 8:15, he is still sleeping at 8:05 and I had to go wake him up. He weighed 21 lbs 15 oz. I told him if he would have eaten more breakfast he could have been an even 22! He is still low on his percentiles, but he's still a perfect little boy. He had to get 2 more shots this time which put him in a funk for the rest of the day but I'm thankful for vaccinations that protect my little boy against deadly diseases that had been practically eradicated until people started jumping on board with not vaccinating their children without legitimate reasons. I realize some children cannot safely be vaccinated. Now flu vaccines, those are another story. They are pointless and potentially cause more harm than good. Liam had one this past spring and I regret it. I will never give him another one. *Steps down off of soap box* (Hey, it's my blog and I have the right to say whatever I want to.)
How hard is it to wake up such a sweet sleeping boy to take him to go get shots?
Moving on, by time we got home, it was like a winter wonderland outside!
Monday night Caleb started processing his deer meat. Liam and I were chit chatting during his bath that night and I asked him if he had a good name for daddy's deer. He said something that sounded a lot like Daniel, so Daniel it is.
Tuesday
We had a Parents As Teachers visit. She was supposed to be here at 8 am, and of course Liam decided to wait until 8 am to wake up. It all worked out because she was running late from dropping her kids off at school, but he hasn't slept in that late ever since. I think he knows when he needs to wake up early. Any other day that we have nothing going on and I would love to sleep in, he it up at 7 am. It's a good thing he's cute and happy in the morning. It makes every thing better.
Tuesday morning Liam and I went over to Caleb's Aunt Rachel's house. Christa and her family were staying there for a few days while they had some work done on their house so we went to hang out for a few hours.
Thursday
I was in pumpkin roll mode. I made one to take to my parents house for thanksgiving, one to take to church for our thanksgiving meal, and one for my sister. Liam cooperated and took a three hour nap so I could get that done. After lunch we went to church to clean since it was our turn this week. Liam tried vacuuming with the toy vacuum. :-) He's such a good helper.
Friday
Liam was kind of in a funk all day. I'm really not sure what was going on with him, but he would just randomly start crying and nothing would make him better. I couldn't figure out anything that was wrong with him. At one point I could tell that he was starting to get tired so I put him in his crib. I could hear him in there babbling then he started full-on crying. I went in there and found Mr. Chunky Thighs stuck like this.
Later on I found him reading this book called "Making the Terrible Twos Terrific". I told him to memorize it. (That's his toothbrush in his mouth, again.)
Friday night we hit the road and went to my parent's house. Saturday we had our Thanksgiving dinner. Since my mom has to work on Thanksgiving and we weren't sure what Caleb's schedule was going to look like, we had Thanksgiving early. Also, now we are going to be able to go to Caleb's parents' house on Thanksgiving and spend the day with them and not have to worry about missing out on other festivities. We had a good time with my family on Saturday. My grandparents came over and it's always good to see them. One of the best things I like about living in Missouri again is being able to see family more often. I really like that Liam gets to know his great-grandparents.
Liam and Piper seemed to get along better this time, except Piper wouldn't quit licking Liam's ears. Weirdo.
Saturday morning my dad and I went out on a search for a new computer. My parents had asked me a few months ago if I would be interested in getting a tablet for Christmas. I thought it sounded like a good idea because my computer wouldn't let me use Skype and so anytime we skyped with family it had to be on my phone. The problem with that was then Liam always wanted to play with my phone. I try to keep my phone off limits to him so I thought that if I had a tablet he could Skype with them on there and my phone would be less of a desire for him. Then we had changed our minds and decided that maybe money for a couch would be a better idea because we have been wanting a nice reclining couch. But then with the death of my old computer I changed my mind again and decided that maybe I wanted to get a new computer instead. Dell had sent us an ad for their pre-Black Friday sales and they had a tablet/laptop combo! I decided that's what I wanted but I couldn't find it in stock at any store in Fenton. My dad told me about a really cool computer store called Micro Center in St Louis and they had it in stock! We went to check it out and it wasn't at all what I wanted. The "tablet" portion of it didn't actually detach, you could just fold the screen of the computer all the way back. The cost for the kind of product that I actually wanted to get was way above our price range. We had an awesome sales person and she worked her magic and found me an HP laptop/tablet combo with detachable tablet, the laptop is full size (like 14-15" screen...a little cumbersome when using the tablet but I only plan on using it occasionally for skyping) and it is perfect. The original cost was $800 and she found one that was open box, on clearance, and she talked her manager into giving me employee pricing on it and we walked out of there with it for $345. I really don't think I could be any happier with what I got. And to top it off my dad got me the 2 year no fault warranty so if Liam destroys anything on it, pull a lamp down on top of it, etc., it's completely covered.
Just a few more things from the past few weeks. Liam has started saying "Hi bud!" all the time. The "Hi" is really drawn out and the "bud" is short. It's adorable. One night he just started saying it over and over again and I couldn't figure out what he was saying. Caleb figured it out and every time Caleb would repeated it to Liam, Liam would say it again.
It's so much fun to watch Liam develop. He will actually go look for things that you ask him to. If we are about to go eat I'll ask him to go find his cup and he will. Or sometimes at nap time I'll ask him to go find his blanket and he will go pull it out of his crib and bring it to me. He has also become very concerned about my hydration and carries around my water bottle to me if I ever leave it laying somewhere. Especially if I go to the bathroom, he will barge in and hand my water bottle to me. Sometimes the little booger even sneaks himself a drink.
