Week of September 14

Sunday - Liam was really huggy at McDonalds.  Of course Jacob just eats it all up.

Monday - I started working on some of the apples that I got from Caleb's grandma.  I worked on apples almost every day this week.  I ended up with about 2 gallons of applesauce, a little over a gallon of apple butter, 3 apple crisps for the freezer, and I cooked up several apples that Liam gobbled up.  I am done with apples for at least a year.  :-)  I gave my sister a bunch of applesauce and I gave away some apple butter, but the rest of it will be going into the freezer.  I don't know how to can and it doesn't sound like too much fun.

On Monday I also cleaned out our deep freeze.  We have had our freezer for about 3 years and it was getting a little frosty.  It got pretty bad during our move back to Missouri because we didn't empty out the freezer and just had it plugged in as much as possible.  Anyway, we have been working on trying to eat as much food out of the freezer as possible and we finally widdled it down enough that I was able to shove everything into our refrigerator freezer.

This is my work of art getting all of this to fit in our freezer.

Tuesday - Liam and I both got lots of naps in.  At one point I laid down and took a nap too but I didn't turn Liam's monitor on.  I was woken up by a sound that I thought was Liam.  I sat up and listened for more babbles and I didn't hear any.  Thinking that I just made it up, I laid back down.  Then I heard this noise again.  Without having his monitor it was hard to figure out what it was.  I really didn't think it sounded like Liam but I didn't know what else it could be.  A little while later I heard it again and finally pinpointed it.  Our next door neighbor had a goat in the back of his truck.  Where do I live again??

Remember that awesome bench Caleb made?  Well he had thought about selling it but then decided to see if we could find somewhere in our house to put it.  I rearranged the dining room and found a place to put it.  Another good reason to have the freezer cleaned out...so I could move it by myself.

I also got this book in the mail!  I'm about a third of the way through it.  I certainly don't agree with everything he says but I need all of the help I can get as we near the 18-36 month range of terrible two-ness.

Thursday - I made a peach crisp and a pumpkin roll to take to my parent's house this upcoming weekend.  I still haven't perfected the rolling of the pumpkin roll this season.  It usually takes me a couple of practices to get it looking like an actual roll.  I spare you pictures.

I also tried coloring with Liam.  I haven't done this in a few months and he still didn't care too much.  He just liked pulling all of the crayons out of the tub.

Friday - Centralia had their homecoming parade on Friday afternoon.  After lunch Liam and I went out for a walk and then went to the town square to watch the parade.  We ran into some friends we know from church, Amber and her daughter Addy.  After the parade Amber dug through her daughter's bag of candy and gave Liam his first sucker.  He loved it.

Watching the parade
 He got some laffy taffy!

He got to eat some more of it when we got home but there was lots of sticky drool pouring out of his mouth so I put an end to that after a few minutes.

Saturday -We went to Fenton to celebrate my Grandpa's birthday.  We had lots of other family that came in too.  We had a good time.

And took some selfies on Great Uncle Bud's phone.

Here's some more from this week:

Now that it's getting cooler out, Liam and I have been taking lots of walks.  Centralia has some pretty rough sidewalks but I've found a two mile path that I can walk that has decent sidewalks most of the way.  It's been good to get out and get walking almost every day.  My favorite is when this little guy looks up at me and says "Hi!!"
And sometimes we see things that make me laugh....like this.
Here are some more pictures from this week:

Liam was watching one of his "What's in the Bible?" dvds and I looked down and saw this.
Liam's hair is coming in more and more, which means he gets some bedhead now.
He likes to show off his belly.
"Mom!  All of my squash is gone!"  (He thinks this whole throwing food on the floor thing is funny)
 Liam + George = BFFs
This is his "Mom are we done with dinner yet?" face.

Within the past couple of weeks I have deleted the Facebook app from my phone.  I felt like I was on Facebook way to much and I knew that deleting the app would one of the best ways to cut back.  I still get on a couple of times a day on my computer (and I'm hoping to cut that back as well) and I still try to post pictures of my little guy but cutting back has been awesome. I have a whole other list of reasons for getting rid of facebook but you could be here for awhile if I posted all of them.  :-)

Here's a video of Liam missing his grandparents.
