July 10 - July 18, 2015

This whole blogging thing takes a lot longer now than it used to.  I have lots of precious distractions now!

Friday - I worked on my blog pretty much all day.  Nothing else exciting really happened.

Saturday - My parents came to visit and spent the day playing with my kids.  :-)

Monday -  Lydia and Ellie came over again!  Lydia brought her camera and some newborn baby props to take some newborn pictures of Cade.  I wish I would have had her take some of Liam when he was a newbie.  Cade wasn't super cooperative at first but it turns out that he just didn't like not having clothes on.  As soon as I put a onesie on him he was asleep and made it easier to get several good shots of him.  I can't wait to see the finished products!

Meanwhile, Caleb got to watch Liam and Ellie. They kept wanting to come into Cade's room where we were taking the pictures.  How cute are these two together?

Tuesday-  Several from Caleb's family came over to meet Cade.  Cade got to meet two of great grandparents!  I didn't think to get a picture, but I'm sure I can get some from Aunt Rhonda sometime.  (Hint hint)  ;-)

Wednesday - Cade had his 2 week check up.  He got a thumbs up from his pediatrician.  He finally got to meet his actual pediatrician.  He weighed 9 lbs!  Such a growing boy.

We also went to go visit Miss Dot from church in the rehab facility she's at.  She loved getting to meet Cade, and Liam loved getting to play with her Mylar balloon and eat her banana.

Thursday -I took Liam outside to go play in the water in his turtle.  Cade even got to go outside to take his nap.

I promise he was having a good time.
He was getting mad because he couldn't push this tree over.
After that I took them inside and gave both boys a bath.  While Liam was eating lunch I tried getting caught up on dishes.  I was unloading the dishwasher and pulled my blender out.  As I was taking it to the cabinet where I keep it it slipped out of my hand and shattered on the floor.  Glass shards went every. where.  I cleaned the floor about 3 times trying to make sure I got everything cleaned up.  I may have shed a tear or two, mostly out of stress and because being post-partum I cry at everything.  Fortunately I also have my mom's blender so I still have something to make my smoothies in.  :-)

After lunch my plan was to have the three of us ready to leave the house by 2 pm so we could go visit Grandma Connie.  I failed miserably at that, but we were able to get on the road by 2:45ish.

Liam found Grandma Lori's big stuffed bears that are currently living at Grandma Connie's house.
He had some bear stalking lessons.

Friday - Caleb's parents stopped by for a visit Friday afternoon.

Saturday - I got a text from our Parents as Teachers educator that morning about an event they were having at the city pool.  I haven't met with her since the beginning of June because of Cade being born so I had forgotten about this event.  I texted Caleb because he was up at church for a Bible study and I asked him if he could try to come home a little early so we could make it to the pool.  Since Liam liked the pool so much during our VBS pool party, I knew he would like going back, and here was our chance to go back for free!  I could have taken the two of them by myself and had someone watch Cade for me, but then that would require me to get in the water and I certainly don't have a swimming suit that fits me anymore.  When we got there they were just starting to go over water safety and at the end of the presentation they gave away 5 life jackets and Liam won one!  He was supposed to get in line to get fitted for one but he was last in line and he was so anxious to get in the pool so I just grabbed one for him. He has a Puddle Jumper life jacket that his grandma bought for him so he still had one to wear in the pool.  He's just a bit too little for it though.

He figured out that he could "dunk" Caleb.

Here's some more pictures from this week:

I didn't pose him at all.  :-D  How cute is he?
He's full of poses.
Sleepy smiles
More sleepy smiles.  I can't get enough of them!

I thought he looked like an old man laying there with his toothless mouth hanging open.
My sister got Liam some wooden puzzles.  He was supposed to be on his way to the bathtub and wanted to take all of the pieces with him.
Storytime with a full lap
Liam wanted to read the book to his brother.

I was trying to get Liam to smile for the camera and he did this instead.  I can't complain though.

They love each other.  :-)
How can you not crack up laughing when you look in the backseat and see Liam sitting there like this with a serious look on his face like "what?  there's nothing to see here."
This little boy is so precious.
