Week 38 - any day now, baby. Any day. I look forward to the days when I can sleep without waking up in pain in my back or in my hips. Little boy, you better be cute.
Sunday
After church we headed to Ewing to spend some time with Caleb's family. It was his dad's last Sunday as pastor there. It's exciting to see where the Lord will lead his parents.
Monday
I got all of my thank you notes written! Some of them have been needing to be written for 3 months now (sorry Indiana friends, I really am grateful!). My mom had found some really cute turtle thank you notes for me. When she told me how many she bought I thought she was crazy. Well, I ran out. I'm a blessed girl who's having a very blessed baby. I just hope that I didn't forget anybody. :-/
Tuesday
Caleb and I went for a walk to go run some errands. I came home and tried to Wii Fit myself into labor. It didn't work.
Wednesday
I made some more zucchini bread for my boy. He really liked the recipe I used last time. The only problem was that I forgot to pin it on pinterest. Do you know how many zucchini bread recipes there are on pinterest?!? I searched and searched and couldn't find it. I know I would remember it if I saw the blog it was posted on. It was the weirdest recipe because most recipes give you instructions on what order to mix everything and this one just said "mix all ingredients together and pour into a loaf pan". I had many reservations as to how it would turn out, but it was a hit! I found one that I thought was close to what I made him before and he said it wasn't as good. Sigh. If only I could find a recipe that he likes even better so he would forget about the delicious one I lost.
Thursday
Since I hadn't really gotten out of the house most of the week, I headed to Mexico while Caleb was at the office. I got a lot of grocery shopping done, both for us and for the reptile. (Guppies, anyone?) It always baffles me how much food I can get at Aldi for less than $100. I had a very full cart and only spent $85. I go to Wal-Mart and I'm able to go through the speedy check out line since I have less than 20 items and I spend $50. Sigh.
I also went and got my hairs trimmed because it had been 7 months since I last did anything to my hair. It feels so much better!
Friday
We had a doctor's appointment and right before the doctor was about to come in to see us, she had to go do a delivery. :-( We waited around for awhile but we ended up seeing another doctor instead because being there for an hour and a half was enough for me. The doctor said that I'm still holding strong at 3 cm but I'm about 70% thinned out now, which is an improvement. She tried to separate my membranes to try to get things started but crikeys is that painful. If he doesn't come out on his own, they are going to induce me on August 21. My due date is August 17, so I'm giving him a few extra days to get things started on his own. Well, really it's not me giving him those extra few days, that's just the first opening in my doctor's schedule after the due date so I have to go with that. August 21 seems like an eternity away.
We had our first night of VBS on Friday. I stayed home for part of the time because I wasn't feeling too hot after the doctor's appointment. We had a pretty good turn out.
Saturday
I woke up not feeling too great again. I can't really say why, other than my back hurt, but I just felt blah. Maybe it was false labor, maybe not. I'm not sure what it's supposed to feel like.
Caleb planned to attend a funeral for a brother of a church member. I'll just say it's a good thing that he keeps a Bible in his car. His first funeral is now in the books.
Caleb wrote this song for our baby the other night. I'm sure most of you saw it on Facebook, but I like my blog better than facebook so I'm going to put it on here too.
Our one year old nephew did his own version of it on their toy ukulele. I can't steal it off of Christa's facebook page to share it with you, so if you can't see it tagged on my page, well, just know it's 5 seconds of cuteness.
