New Years
Liam got sick with a fever around New Years. He never showed any other signs of being sick so I'm suspecting those two year molars we have been battling struck again.
We stayed home this year for New Years Eve. Actually I went to bed before midnight too. I forgot to get sparkling grape juice so we had some Ningxia Red drink from Young Living. Even though it's not as yummy, it's full of good healthy stuff so it was a give and take. :-D
On New Years day we went to Caleb's grandparent's house in Winchester, IL. Caleb had lots of other family there too so we got to spend some time with all of them. Liam also went home with Tim and Lori so we got to have a couple of days toddler free. We just relaxed at home and watched Making A Murderer on Netflix. On our way home, though, we went through Hannibal and stopped at my favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner. After we left there we went and visited Lydia and Ethan and their new little bundle, McCrae!
Everyone except Grandpa Bill is sleeping in this picture. He said it made him feel like he was in a nursing home. Ha!
Trying to nap with Grandma Lori
Trying out some table food. He wasn't a fan.
On Sunday afternoon on our way to Ashland to meet Caleb's mom to get Liam back we went and ate at Lonestar for lunch. We have had a gift card from last Christmas (or maybe anniversary, not sure) and we have talked about using it all last year and it just never happened. So we finally got to use this gift card and when Caleb went to pay he realized that the card is for Longhorn, not Lonestar. So now we still have the giftcard to use. :-D
I just can't get enough of these cheeks.
6 Months Old!
Cade turned six months old! Once he finally learned how to roll from his back to his belly, he has been rolling everywhere! His six month appointment wasn't until later close to the end of the month because that was the soonest we could get him in, but we weighed 22 lbs 6 oz (97th percentile), 28 inches long (87th percentile) and his head was 47 centimeters (99th percentile).
Cade had to get stinky shots. He was pretty fussy after these. The day after I found this red hive-like spot on his leg where he got one of his shots. I called the doctor's office and they said that his vaccine probably calcified in his leg and would just take some time to work it's way through the muscle. It did eventually go away but that was a new one for us!
WIC appointment
We had our 6-month re-certification appointment at WIC. They were running really behind and we ended up being there for an hour and a half. I tried to be really patient because I really appreciate the help that we get from WIC. However, when I'm stuck in a tiny little room with two tired and cranky kids, my patience only stretches so far. Usually I would try to keep Liam out of stuff, but I didn't have anything else for him to do so I let him start climbing on stuff.
I thought maybe he could figure out how to do everything and we could just be on our way. He wasn't successful.
Visiting Christa
We went to go visit Christa and her family one night. The boys had so much fun playing together.
Liam was running around with this helmet on for quite awhile.
Cade was a model for Aunt Christa.
Playing stickers with Aunt Christa and having so much fun!
Shirtless hooligans running around (they had just finished dinner)
He likes Aunt Christa. He does not like Uncle Bert. He screamed and screamed until I went and got him from Uncle Bert.
Haha! Ezra on the video monitor
Cade had on a plain white shirt. Nobody is allowed to have a plain shirt at Aunt Christa's house so she found a fitting design for him. :-)
Lots of baby piggies
Pooped.
Rasslin'.
Christa sent me home with a tub of fabric. I got a little giddy over it. :-)
Going Outside
We have had several mild days this past month so I took advantage of them and took my kids outside to play.
Going for a walk!
Bubs didn't last the whole way.
Along with the mild days we also had some snowy days! (Which also made us get sick from the drastic weather changes)
I was inside and looked out and saw this. It may be one of the most precious things ever. Caleb is an awesome Dadna.
Bibs
I had posted some of my bandana bibs for sale a few times in a few different craft groups on facebook and I really didn't have a whole lot of interest at first. One night I posted a few pictures of some new prints that I finished and overnight I sold a bunch of them. Within a matter of two weeks I sold 124 bibs. (One of the reasons this poor blog got neglected for so long) Christa helped me make a website where I can post all of the bibs that I have for sale which will save me time from having to private message people all the time on Facebook. If you want to check it out, here it is! www.madebymiss.weebly.com You should order some because obviously it's what all of the cool babies are wearing these days!
I taught Cade how to sew so we are a two man crew now.
Cade has also become a baby model for me. He doesn't mind.
Liam likes in on the picture taking occasionally. Mostly when I don't need him in the picture.
Liam is my personal mailman though.
He takes his job seriously.
I also started dabbling in bow ties. :-)
Matching bow tie and bib. :-)
Everything else I have pictures of: :-)
I asked Liam if he wanted to go out and check the mail with me. Two seconds later I look over and see this. It's a little too cold out for going to check the mail in your diaper.
When I went out to check the mail I had finally gotten some pictures I had ordered for a Christmas present for Caleb's mom. Walmart told me my package was undeliverable and refunded my money so I ordered from Shutterfly. My Walmart envelope eventually made it's way here but Mr. Mailman decided he didn't want to get out of his truck and bent it to shove it in my mailbox. I called the post office and they told me that it was Walmart's fault for not putting it in an unbendable package. *rolls eyes*
The post office said they don't have time to read every envelope to see what is inside.
It definitely bent my 8x10s.
Trying to fit every single animal in his zoo.
Daddy makes a good chair.Look at all of that baby chub!
Because why wouldn't you watch tv with a train balanced on your head?
Watching morning cartoons with Dad and eating "Dosh-nushs" (donuts)
Excited to share the cart with Cade!
Liam kept asking for his stuffed spider for several days. Mama went and searched high and low and finally found it. Liam was a happy critter.
He put it away for safe keeping.
He's a cool kid.
Laundry basket rides!
My dad enjoys fabric shopping. :-)
I got my yearly batch of laundry detergent made.
Liam only wants to read the Noah's ark story. Caleb was telling him that he can't just read the parts of the Bible that he wants to and skip the rest because it's not good exegesis.
Chubby baby fingers and a giant baby head. He's precious.
6 lbs of beans make for a fabulous snowy day activity!
As long as he can be near his daddy he is content.
I noticed Liam kept carrying around something in his hand. When I pried his fingers open I found a turtle head. Being a mom of boys is never dull. Looks like another one bites the dust. (It's fake but he is getting bad about dismembering his animals)
Our silly face picture
Has anyone seen Liam? He's hiding. ;-)
Because sometimes an hour long bath time does good for both mommy and them.
Except it makes for pruney fingers which upset Liam. He kept trying to pull his step stool over to the sink so he could wash the prunes off of his fingers.
We had an Easter dress rehearsal one Sunday morning. It's a good thing too because Cade's outfit is snug and isn't going to fit in 2 months. So Cade will be wearing this outfit in 24 months and Liam's is 2T.
Liam always gets so excited about going to get his Bubba every morning.
We got to finger paint with Parents as Teachers!
Aren't they cute?
This pickle didn't go over so well this time.
"Mama! Bubba! Look!"
Sometimes I really just don't think he could get any chubbier.
Caleb was holding the hymnal over so I could see it and Cade grabbed a hold of it. I thought it was so cute. :-)
