August 26 - September 11, 2015

August 26 - August 29

I found Liam sitting on his potty like this.  I think he thinks it's a reading chair.

August 26 was apparently National Dog Day or something like that.  Everyone on facebook was posting pictures of their dog.  Cade wanted to get in on the excitement so I took a picture of him and Clifford.  He did the "I love you" sign all by himself.  :-)

Just another day in our house.  :-)
Cade was sleeping and didn't want to join in.
There's a new family in Centralia that just moved here.  They have a little boy close to Liam's age.  Liam has enjoyed getting to hang out with him and I like getting to hang out with his Mom!  It's nice to have another stay at home mom friend in the area that I can text to come meet us to hang out at the park.

Cade got a tummy time book from Parents as Teachers.  Liam had to "read" it to him.
All of Cade's 3-6 month stuff has started getting small.  It's a lot of work keeping up with his clothes!
That face.  Those eyes.  They make me melt every time.

Week of August 30

My Ant got Cade this adorable outfit.  If he's not cute enough just wearing the outfit, he has started getting really smiley.  For awhile, every time Caleb would say "Hey!  You're good looking.  Did you know that?" Cade would then give him this precious smile.   Also as soon as we got to church with him dressed like this he proceeded to poop and get it all over his shirt.  :-(
Snuggling with my sweet chubs in the nursery on Sunday.
One day all that Liam wanted to watch was Daniel Tiger.  I turned the tv off and told him to go get me a book to read him.  Of course he decided to bring me his Daniel Tiger book.  The library just got in some new Daniel Tiger books so we had to go snag a couple of those.
One food that I'm not a huge fan of is spaghetti.  We have been married for 4 1/2 years and we have never had spaghetti for a meal.  We are currently trying to use up a lot of the food that we currently have on hand, and spaghetti noodles won for dinner one night.  Liam wasn't a big fan either.  He just wanted the garlic bread.  We thought it was entertaining watching him trying to figure out how to eat the long stringy noodles.

Tim and Lori came to visit and brough Liam his birthday present from Great-Grandma Connie!
He got a boxing Spider man!
It's blurry, but proof that he loved it! (That's his excited face)
 Community pillow
The library started up their itsy bitsy story time again.  Liam loves the computers in that room.  Actually he just likes pushing buttons on the keyboard.

Liam discovered his reflection in the knobs on the shower.
Cade got a bath too. Look at that belly!
I took a picture of Cade in his jammies.  He got these jammies from Ant too.  They are just like the newborn jammies he wore in the hospital, which I was excited about because I loved those jammies!
So of course I had to do a comparison picture.  These are almost exactly two months apart.  Look how chubby those cheeks have gotten!

Our St. Louis Trip
My grandparents recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.  My mom had a big hoopla for their 50th so this time around it she wanted to keep it more low-key.  My mom's sibilings and most of their families were able to come into town to celebrate.  Caleb had the chance to take a modular class at school so he dropped me and the tots off in St Louis and then went on to Louisville to take his class on Friday and Saturday.  I had been looking forward to this trip for months.  I hadn't been to St Louis in awhile and I also hadn't seen most of my extended family in quite awhile.

Caleb got comfy for the drive
Liam's face.  :-) He's excited about seeing Grandma and Grandpa
He got to wear his spider man shoes for the first time so he spent a good while checking them out
When we got there Liam got his birthday present from Aunt Amy.  More cars!
Liam wasn't so sure about Piper again at first but once they warmed up to each other Liam had a great time with him.
Liam would take all of the toys out of the basket and say "Ta da!"

Thursday evening we went to visit my Grandma.  She got to meet Cade for the first time.
Liam liked checking out all of her pictures on the wall.

Jim went with us.  Liam likes hanging out with him.

After we left we went to Menchies for some frozen yogurt.  Liam liked their chalk boards.
The little mooch had to try a bite of everyone's froyo.
How cute are these two??
Piper liked to lay next to Cade and protect him.
Friday morning we went to the zoo!

The children's zoo is free before 9 am.  We got there about 8:57.  :-)

They had some friendly looking otters there.
He found a hippo!  I wanted to put him in the hippo's mouth but there was mud in there and I didn't want him getting muddy right away.
Looking at some sort of oppossum.
 Petting a snake!
 Alpacas
The children's zoo has a slide that kids can go down.  Liam was scared to go down the slide so my mom encouraged him with a friendly push.  Liam slid down about half way and then decided he was scared.  I had to climb up the bottom of this tunnel slide and pull him down by his legs.  After that  I debated about whether or not to take him into the goat yard because I thought for sure the goats would also scare him.  I took my chances and tried to keep him close in case he got scared or one tried to chew on him.  He got in there and had a great time.  He even went and found a brush and wanted to brush every single one of them.  Two year olds are so unpredictable.

Hippo!  We got quite the close up view of him.
 Looking at the hippo's head
Liam did lots of gasping.  He loved the zoo so much.

Pushing the strollers up a hill.  :-)
Saying hi to a mama orangutan.   She had a baby hanging on her.
Checking out the new(ish) sea lion exhibit.
The penguin house won for Liam's favorite attraction.  He's been watching the movie Penguins of Madagascar and he also got some penguin toys with his Batman toys from his birthday so he's been on a penguin kick for a few weeks.

We had to wait in line to get in the penguin house (totally worth it).  Liam stood there and talked to this penguin the whole time while we waited. (You should have seen my mom jump when a penguin shot poop in her direction behind the glass)

 Liam also loved the carousel.
 Checking out some animals
While I was loading stuff into the car I asked Amy to hold Cade for me.  His chubby cheeks are just too much to handle sometimes :-)

Saturday morning Amy, Cade, and I met up with Jim at Kaldis for coffee. Cade had the time of his life.
Cade spent the afternoon with Piper by his side.

Amy took Liam to the playground at the elementary school down the street.
Liam loved this pig that is one of Piper's toys.
Saturday evening we went to the hotel where my cousins are staying and Liam got to go swimming with them.

 Floating with Amy and Jim
Caleb came back to St Louis on Saturday night.  Sunday morning all of us went to church with my parents.  Cade enjoyed himself. For real this time.

Sunday afternoon every one came over to my parents house for my grandparents' celebration.

All of the cousins (minus one)
Some of the great grandkids (missing 3)
 The fam
The two youngest great grands.  Katie and Cade.
This is what happens when you leave your phone laying around.
The kids started dropping like flies
Some other pictures from our trip:

On the drive home.  Goofy kid!
He was so excited to play with all of his batman toys when we got home.
I'm not sure where this picture fits in...but here's my precious boy.
Here's a video of some parts of our trip.  Once we got to the zoo and I got out my video camera I realized that I had forgotten to put my memory card back in the camera so I had to suffice with my phone camera.  I'm also really good at having good intentions of taking video and not taking any at all so what I did capture is an accomplishment for me.

 Week of September 6

This was Liam's Valentine's day outfit.  Cade fits in it already so we had to sent a pic to his Auntie.

Cade turned two months old!  He's so smiley these days.
 Hee Hee
Cade had his two month appointment.  He was 15 lbs 11 oz and 23 1/4 inches.  He's at the top of the percentile charts.  Liam was always on the low end of those charts.

He had to get his two month shots.  At first he only cried for about 30 seconds and was good to go, but once we got home he wasn't a happy camper.

Liam was a good big brother and want his Bubba to feel better.

When Liam got up from his nap he was preaching a sermon to his animals.

We randomly had a bunch of flies all hanging out on the back door.  This was the second massacre.  I think I killed 20+ flies in one day.  My kitchen smelled like electrocuted fly guts.  Those zapping fly swatters are so much fun though.

One of the grocery stores in town had the Oscar Mayer wiener mobile in celebration of a grand opening of two of their other stores.  (They were celebrating the grand opening of their new stores in Hallsville and Sturgeon by having this event at the Centralia and Macon stores.  Makes sense, right?)
Liam thought it was so cool.  He couldn't wait to get out of his car seat and go see the "beep beep" (his word for cars and trucks)
They had grilled hotdgos, chips, and a drink for $1!
The two year old way of eating a hotdog and a bun.
Reading books.  This picture cracks me up every time I see it.
It's so much fun having two on my lap now.  :-)
Cade couldn't handle all of the excitement of reading books though.
Here are some other videos from the past few weeks:

Liam loves playing with his cars.

Singing a solo at church
He loves to dance to beat boxing.  :-)
Liam's beach ball starting losing air but he insisted on blowing it up himself.
