Week of June 29

Sunday was the last day of our Vacation Bible School but I posted about that last week.

Monday - During the day on Monday Liam started getting a bad diaper rash.  It was so bad that Monday night anytime he would do any business in his diaper he would scream in pain.  I ended up changing 9 nasty diapers that day too.  I really don't know what the deal was.  My suspicions are that maybe it started from being in the pool on Sunday.  There were other people at the pool saying that the chlorine was affecting them in different ways.  Then I also wondered if the rash was from the amount of poo he was having which I was wondering if the poo was from weaning him and giving him more formula.  My Ant suggested that it all might be from teething.  I'm no doctor, but whatever the case was, my baby was miserable which made mommy miserable.

Tuesday - I gave Liam a bath with no soap, which his doctor had suggested to me at one time if he ever had a bad diaper rash.  Then I kept his little bum coated with corn starch and it started clearing up super fast!  Way better than all of his regular diaper rash creams.  I also kept checking his diaper and changing him frequently.

Poor little guy

 Just needing some snuggles.
Wait a minute, I think he's enjoying all of this snuggle time!!
Later that day he fell and hit his head pretty hard on our living room end table.  He got a bruise on his forehead.  Little tough guy didn't shed a tear about it though!

Thursday - Last week during Vacation Bible School the kids decorated bags and painted people to put into the bags to take the nursing home with some goodies inside.  Since one of the deacons was doing a service at a nursing home that day I got the bags together and we went over to the home and passed out the bags after the service.  All Most of the people loved them and they loved getting to see Liam.  There is one lady who is 97 years old at that nursing home.  She's a pretty frail old lady who has been asleep in a recliner the few times we have been there.  We gave her a bag and she pulled the little painted paper person out of the bag and ripped its head off.  Then she pulled out the puzzle book that was in there and started ripping the pages out.  The nurses quickly took the bag away from her but I guess if that's what you find enjoyment in at 97 years old, then knock yourself out.

Friday - We met up with Caleb's parents and siblings in Kingdom City then rode with them to Caleb's Uncle Mark's house in Illinois for a BBQ.  We had a good time. At one point we were all sitting outside and there was a guy who went jogging past and the only thing he was wearing was a pair of shorts that looked like the American flag.  So Caleb stood up and put his hand over his heart as he watched the man run past.  The guy definitely saw him because he gave him thumbs up. -_-

Liam wouldn't sit on this toy.

Liam wasn't so sure about it.
 Ok definitely not a fan.
Or maybe it's not so bad when you get used to it.
I love this picture of him.
Showing off one of his fourth of July outfits.

Boredom in the car

We stopped in Kingdom City on our way back and ate at Taco Bell.  We all sat in one booth even though the rest of the place was completely empty.

Saturday - My parents came to visit!  They took us out to eat at Cheddars.  I hadn't been there quite awhile and it was delicious as always.  Then we went to Party City and got all of the decorations and stuff for Liam's birthday party.  My original intention was to make it a superhero theme, but I ended up getting everything Batman.  So Batman it is.  :-)  I can't believe my baby will already be a year old next month!  He's getting so close to taking off walking by himself.  He can stand really well by himself and will take a few steps at a time.

My parents brought Liam a Curious George Jack-in-the-box.  He loves this thing.  It's one of his current favorites now.

A couple of other pictures from this week:

He wanted to send a picture of his shirt to Aunt Amy (She bought it for him)
He looks so big in this picture!  I had just taken some new clothes upstairs a few weeks ago that I thought were way too big for him.  I went through them the other day and I think he can wear most of them!  He's keeping me on my toes with this growth spurt.
 Getting some daddy kisses!
