Liam got to hear his first sermon outside of the womb. :-) I should have taken a picture of him in his cute lil overalls, but I was just doing good getting him fed and out the door on time. Speaking of while I was feeding him (this is kind of gross, just fyi)...so that morning I had gotten him up and taken his clothes off since that's what I have to do to keep him awake sometimes, especially if he's been sleeping for awhile. I noticed that his umbilical cord was really starting to make it's way out. I fed him then I was about to pass him off to his daddy to get him dressed while I finished getting myself ready. As I was about to pass him off I noticed that the umbilical cord was gone. I looked around and couldn't find it anywhere. I got up and checked everywhere on the cushions of the couch, shook off my clothes, nothing. I went into the nursery and told Caleb that I HAD to find it before we went to church. What if it's hanging off of my clothes somewhere? He took one look at me and pointed to my shirt and sure enough, it was hanging off of my shirt. I was so grossed out, so Caleb pulled it off even though it had almost dried on. I'm glad he has a stronger stomach than I do. Being a mom is gross.
Sunday night Liam and I skyped with my parents and sister. Technology is pretty awesome sometimes. My mom took some pictures of us. (Please note my sister's faces in the bottom right boxes)
Monday
Naps and more naps. Lack of sleep is really starting to catch up with me.
Tuesday
We took the tot to the doctor on Tuesday because it looked like he had a little bit of blood in his diaper. He had it Sunday night but I thought it might still be part of his circumcision healing, but when it happened on Tuesday too I thought something might possibly be wrong. I called the doctor and they asked me to bring the diaper in. I had to dig through the diaper genie to find the diaper from the night before and sure enough it was the last diaper I checked. It doesn't help that it was only one of two diapers he had from Tuesday that weren't filled with poo. It turns out that it is crystals in his urine or something like that. The doctor said it's not anything to worry about.
This kid loves to poo. He's been having eight to nine poopy diapers a day. But I'll take that over him being gassy and crampy.
Wednesday-Friday
I don't even remember what happened the rest of the week. It's all kind of a blur. My days are spent feeding, changing, and napping. I don't find time for much else these days.
Here are some of his two week pictures I took on Friday:

Saturday
My parents and grandparents came to visit. It was good to get to visit with them and for Liam to meet his great grandparents. Here are some pictures my mom took:

Dear Liam, can we remake this picture when you get older, please? |
Saturday afternoon we had chili for lunch...and apparently that didn't sit too well with Liam. After my parents left he was not a happy camper. Finally after trying several things Caleb just set him in his bouncy seat and turned on the vibration and it was like an off switch to the crying. I think along with being gassy he also was tired of being held. He ended up having another crying spell so Caleb went to Walmart late Saturday night to get some gas drops in case it would be a rough night. Liam ended up calming down by time Caleb got back, but the gas drops did come in handy the next day. Poor little guy, I promise I'll try to lay off the chili until you're weaned.
When he didn't want to be held, his pacifier seemed to also soothe him, but he had problems holding it in his mouth by himself. I was holding it in for him and he snuggled my hand. He melts my heart.
Saturday night when I got up to feed Liam for the first time, I found these on his dresser.
Then as I was carrying Liam into his nursery to nurse him, he let out a toot so loud that it probably could have registered on the Richter scale. Both of my boys know how to make me smile, even at 1 am.
Here are some more pictures we took on our phones this week and last week
