Sorry for the delay on updating this, but I'm here to catch you up with pictures of the past two weeks!
7-22: Emily went to church with us and sadly had to leave after lunch. It was so good to see her!
7:23 Fourth Street Live is an interesting place in downtown Louisville. My in-laws came to visit on Monday and we got to go eat dinner at TGIFridays that is along this strip. It was definitely yummy!
7-24: Fourth Street Live has a food court, so this day I went to eat lunch at Subway and the girl gave me a free cookie. After I took two bites, I knew I had to take a picture to remember just how good this cookie was, and it wasn't even because it was free, but that does help.
7:25 - Caleb's parents brough us a cucumber amongst some other fresh produce and I got a zucchini from someone at work who grows them. I love getting fresh food!
7-26: This thing scared the begezzies out of me. He decided to hitch a ride to work with me and now no longer lives. His brother showed up on my desk at work a few days later. Sick.
7-27: While I was out walking, I saw this crowd outside of the Kentucky Center for the Performing arts. There was some sort of brass ensemble playing and lots of soulful people standing all around, even on the other side of the street and they were all dancing. This day I also saw a woman with an afro that was at least a foot tall but I couldn't get a picture without totally looking like a creeper.
7-29: Caleb and I went out for a walk and we are always amazed at the weird art/statues all around this area. This one was in someone's yard.
7-30: I made a present for Caleb. He thought it was a bit cheesy, but I had fun making it. Melissa actually means Honeybee. :-)
7-30: Bananananana ice cream! It's one of my hubby's favorites and we had some browning bananas. All it is made of is frozen bananas, peanut butter, and chocolate syrup. We can eat lots of it for dessert and not feel guilty! :-)
7-30: This is what I consdier a good day at work. Lots to keep me busy! :-)
7-31: I didn't take this picture, someone in the newsroom at work did. I saw this opposum when I was out walking. I just saw it out of the corner of my eye and thought it was a cat, but it turns out it was a oppossum. It moved away too fast for me to get a picture. I'm sure he was bad news since it was clearly daylight outside.
8-1: This day gets 4 pictures because it was such a good day. Caleb came to walk with me during my lunch break. We found some more art!
Then Caleb came and picked me up from work that night to go eat dinner with some friends from seminary. Along the way, we saw this little tonka truck strapped to the back of a semi.
Then when I got home that night, these beauties were waiting for me on the countertop. Daisies are becoming one of my favorites because they last longer than other flowers he has bought me.
8-2: There's a bit of a back story to this picture. Friday when Caleb was at Wal-mart he texted me and asked if I wanted some real cherries (as opposed to the little marschino cherries I pile on top of my ice cream) because they had 2 lbs for $1.50, originally $5. Well, I happened to read that text as "do you want some reg cherrios". First of all I was trying to figure out why in the world Walmart was selling cherrios by the pound, but I do like to eat them plain as a snack, so I told him to get them. When I got home Thursday night there were 2 lbs of cherries in the refrigerator. I asked Caleb why he got cherries and he reminded me that he had texted me about them earlier. Then I realized there were no cherrios, just cherries. I checked the text message, and he definitely said real cherries, not reg cheerios. Only one problem, I'm allergic to a lot of fruits. I can have them if they are cooked, just not raw. Friday night I was home alone since Caleb was at an all-guy campfire and I tried one of the cherries and right away I started having an allergic reaction. I found a simple recipe for a cherry crisp and I figured that I would attempt to make one since I obviously couldn't eat any of them plain. Here is one of the two crisps that I made and let me just say, they are amazing. Absolutely amazing. Caleb told me he wasn't a cherry person, and he really liked it. Score!
8-4: I got the itch to paint something and here is my victim. Caleb made me this table when we moved to fit in between the washer and dryer just to have more space to fold clothes and have a convenient place to keep detergent. Stay tuned to see what I did to it. (and yes, I painted this in the bathroom because we have a big bathroom and Caleb has our other extra room covered in sawdust at the moment)
I am so glad you had time to update. Love reading what the two of you are doing. Miss you
ReplyDeleteHa ha I can't wait to see what you do with that sweet little table! I wish we had some more tabletop space in our kitchen/laundry room. Also your cherry crisp, it looks AMAZING! We made a fresh peach/blackberry crisp last weekend and let me tell you canned fruit has nothing on fresh fruit!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love your "Faith, Hope, Love" Wall art, those letters, love 'em!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Caleb also made grace and truth that are hanging on a different wall. Fresh fruit is definitely the way to go! :-)
