I didn't make matching outfits for us this year. I didn't really have the time or motivation to do that. Also, with Liam being older it would take a little bit more work than sewing some stuff the front of a onesie for him. He wore the same outfit that he got his pictures taken in a few weeks ago. Here are some of my favorites:
After church we changed clothes and left to go to Caleb's parents' house. We had lunch there and also another easter egg hunt.
He was ready to go!
Collecting the loot.
He really wanted into that chair with Nehemiah.
Giving out tickles
Liam got his first ride on a four wheeler. Caleb's mom took him the first time but once he couldn't see his dad anymore he wasn't so happy. He went for another ride with his dad and seemed to enjoy it a little bit more.
Monday - Caleb had to work so I asked Liam to smile for his dad while I took a picture. This is what I got from him.
Tuesday - Liam has lots of toys outside but his favorite things to play with are sticks, rocks, and dirt.
Wednesday
He loves watching veggie tales.
I hate crust on my sandwiches. At least there's someone who enjoys eating my scraps now.
I got some big fat fuzzy pipe cleaners and gave them to Liam along with an old parmesan cheese container. It doesn't keep his attention for long, but it buys me a few minutes here and there.
Thursday - I had my 28 week doctor's appointment. Christa is going to the same doctor as me right now and she scheduled her appointment close to mine. Rachel went with us and watched the kids for us while we had our appointments. I also had to get my glucose test done. The drink actually wasn't as bad as I remembered it being last time. I passed. Woohoo! My doctor did tell me that probably most of my pain that I have been experiencing is from lifting Liam. I've been trying to not lift him anymore than I have to and definitely not carrying him around more than I have to. It has made a huge difference!
Liam got bored waiting in the waiting room.
After that we all went to Target. Christa and I both made a baby registry so we could get the free registry packet full of baby samples.
Little brother needs legos, right?
These three had fun running around like hooligans together.
We also went and checked out the easter candy. I love Cadbury mini milk chocolate eggs. I got some and let Liam carry them around. It ended up being the only thing that I bought so the cashier didn't bother giving me a bag, she just handed the bag to Liam. After we left and went to Steak n Shake for lunch. I didn't think to take the bag of chocolate away from Liam in the car. By the time we drove across the street to Steak n Shake, he had chewed the bag open and slobbered on half of the chocolate. He was sitting in his seat saying "MMMM!!!!" Don't judge me, but I ate the ones that were only half slobbered on. I couldn't let that chocolate go to waste.
After lunch we went to Orscheln to see Caleb. Liam loves the baby bunnies there but they had just sold their last one that day. :-(
I was able to keep Liam awake on the drive home so he could nap in his bed. The only problem was that then there was a bad storm that rolled through. Centralia was right in the middle of it. They said we had up to 75 mph winds. There was lots of hail and it was coming at an angle because the wind was so strong and it was pelting Liam's bedroom windows. I was afraid of them breaking so I went in and got Liam up and we watched the storm from the living room. He had only napped a few minutes and didn't want to go back to sleep. By that evening he was a bear.
Friday - We had every intention of going to story time at the library that morning. I was getting his diaper changed and his shoes on and he kept rubbing his eyes and crying. So instead I put him to bed. He ended up sleeping for 3 hours. After not really napping the day before, I'm sure he really needed it! We still went to the library later that afternoon to exchange some books. I can only handle reading the same Clifford books so many times.
He has seen other kids use these computers and he has started to figure them out.
Whoa, sound comes out of these!
I gave him a little help.
Who wants to look at books when you have these cool computers?
That afternoon Liam and his dad played outside. I also took Liam for a wagon ride around the corner. He really enjoyed it but I don't think I'll be able to handle doing that too much longer. All of my ligaments were screaming at me when we got back.
Then Liam went to the backyard and helped dad in the shed. Also known as trying to play with everything he possibly can.
Saturday - Liam woke up early. Caleb got up with him and they went and got donuts. What did I do to deserve two great guys?
Caleb also mowed the grass. Liam has a little lawnmower but seeing how he "helps" me vacuum using his little vacuum, helping his dad mow the grass would be a hazard to his well being. We'll just stick to watching him from inside.
Liam went outside to play after the grass was cut. Caleb asked him if he could pick up all of the grass clippings. lol
Sunday - Liam woke up at 6:30. O.O By Sunday School time he was super tired. Caleb took him to the nursery and after a brief battle of the wits, got him to sleep for a little bit. He was really good during church that morning. He is certainly making some progress sitting through church! Even at home he is sitting still for longer periods of time while we read books.
Monday - Caleb didn't have to work so he was able to work on some stuff around the house. A few weeks ago our neighbors across the street had a door out in their trash. Caleb went over and took it. He cut up parts of the wood and made shelves in the shed. He also kept the doorknob in case he ever makes another gadget board. He gave the dead bolt key hole thing to Liam and he has carried that thing around the yard over and over again. The only part he was going to throw away was the window part. It had spots for 3 panes and one of them was missing and the wood was kind of split. Caleb had been trying to figure out a way to hang some of our letter pictures in the living room without having to make lots of nail holes, and after a little spray paint, here's what he came up with! I asked him if after all of that if he felt the need to write the neighbors a thank you note for their door. He doesn't.
Monday was also the home opening day for the cards. Liam showed his support.
Future model?
He loves the cardinals thiiiiiis much.
Tuesday - Karisha and her baby, Kessa, came over for a visit. Liam was so fascinated with the baby. Liam had been kissing her on her head and her hands. Before they left I told Liam to give Kessa a kiss and he planted one right on her lips. Oops. Not quite what I meant.
Almost all of this picture is a blur except for that adorable little face. :-) How cute is she??
That afternoon Liam snuggled up with me on the couch and used his baby brother as a pillow.
Wednesday - Wednesday mornings are the only mornings that Caleb doesn't have to be up early. He was sleeping in and I got up with Liam. Liam was being loud while he was eating breakfast so I told him he had to be quiet because daddy was sleeping. After I got him out of his chair and was cleaning up dishes, I heard him shushing. He walked down the hall saying "shhhh" and then I heard him knocking on the door to our bedroom. So much for letting Caleb sleep in.
Caleb got some pictures hung on our walls. It's a good thing I was there to supervise. I know he probably wanted to hang my laundry sign in the living room to remind me that I always have laundry that needs to be done, but I talked him out of it. I also finally replaced our engagement pictures! I had gotten some of our family pictures from last year printed out, but when I went and found those I also found some photos from our wedding dress shoot we did a few summers back. So we got all of those pictures finally hung up!
I know Liam is a blur...this is what most of the pictures on my phone look like, but he had a great time with his duplos. Toy rotation has been awesome. When we moved I separated his toys into bins but I also left several of his favorites out for him to play with every day. On days when he seems bored I get out a tub and it's like new toys for him! It also keeps my living room a little bit more livable.
One of the last things I wanted to get before the baby was born was this mei tai. I finally ordered it and it came in the mail! I wanted to try out Liam in it but there wasn't enough room for two babies.
Liam was entertaining me while I was straightening my hair. He found a new knife holder! I told him I needed to take a picture to send to his dad, so that's why he's waving.
I took Liam outside shortly before it was time to leave for church. I wanted him to let out any energy he may have stored up. The only thing he wanted to do was ride in his wagon. I pulled him around the yard once and then made him get out. He stood there and cried until I carried him inside. I told him we were supposed to be burning off HIS energy, not mine. I don't have much to spare these days. We opted for bath time instead.
"No, mom. I want THIS."
Thursday
We needed to get a few things from the grocery store. Liam really wanted to wear his dad's hat.
I tried teaching him how to blow a dandelion. It turned in to him trying to eat a dandelion.
This boy. I love getting to hang out with him every day. :-)
Thursday Liam turned 20 months old. I asked him if he wanted to make a cake and he said no. :-( We opted for Oreo pudding instead and Liam greatly enjoyed it.
Friday - I wanted to get out of the house so Liam and I got up and ready to go. When I went in to get Liam, I found him like this.
"Look, mom!"
"What do you mean I'm doing it wrong?"
We started off going to some yard sales. I scored a tupperware container for a velveeta cheese block. Yay! ;-) After that we went and got breakfast at McDonalds and took it to Caleb at church. Then we went to Columbia and went to our normal Aldi, Target, and Walmart. It was actually a rather disappointing trip. Walmart and Target didn't have the things I went looking for. The only thing we ended up buying at Walmart was a massive bag of Honeycomb for Caleb. He had requested some so I sent him this picture asking if it was a big enough bag.
We went to Petsmart to get some fish for Oscar...who promptly ate all 8 of them. Liam loved seeing all of the dogs and fish at the store.
I always try to keep Liam awake on the way home. I kept passing stuff back for him to play with and he would end up cuddling it. I had to resort to leg tickles.
Friday night we spent some time outside. Caleb was fixing the floor in the shed that was made of particle board. You know you have some high quality particle board when your toddler can tear it apart with his hands.
Saturday - Liam was a huge crab that morning. I put him to bed for a nap early. When he woke up he noticed there were people building a swing set in his backyard!
Of course they needed his supervision.
I love this picture and that Caleb is making the same face back to Liam. :-)
He wanted to help so bad. :-)
But nothing beats riding around in his wagon. He kept waving to me the whole time Jonathan was pulling him around.
Liam turns more and more into a little boy every day. He laughs at any sort of bodily noise that he can make. He loves playing and eating dirt. Then take this for example. We are watching Veggie tales and I look over and he is holding his training knife like this.
And then later I found him like this. It is definitely up the nostril.
You know what? I wouldn't change a thing about him. I love having a little boy and can't wait until I have two of these little critters running around.
