Week of June 1

Sunday - We made it home from Kansas!  After I got home Caleb, Liam, and I went out to Anchorfest.  We got our once-a-year funnel cake.  Delicious!  We had to end up bringing it home because Liam was a wiggle worm after being in his car seat all day and didn't want to sit while we ate.  We had church in the park that night since they were tearing down all of the rides from Anchorfest.  I took our keyboard out there and Caleb brought his amp.  It was fun!

Somehow, I forgot to post this picture last week.  I was going to take a picture of us to send to Caleb to tell him that we were excited to come home to see him and Liam made this face without me even trying to get him to.  What a ham.

Sunday night Caleb was trying to get Liam dressed for bed and he wouldn't cooperate very well.  He thought it was pretty funny though.

Monday - I "took the day off" from my job.  I got up to feed Liam and headed back to bed.  I ended up sleeping until 11 am.  I needed it!  Around lunch time Aunt Rachel called wanting to know what we were up to.  Liam had just gone down for a nap so she went to Round Table and got us some burgers for lunch.  We hadn't seen her in awhile so it was good to visit with her.

Wednesday - I went to Columbia to do some shopping.  I was at Wal-mart getting some baby things and there were two ladies behind me discussing my purchase making comments about how they never did what I'm doing.  They are lucky I'm not pregnant and hormonal because I might have just gone off on them.  However, I have to daily pray for patience and the Lord gave me the patience I needed that day.  My kid is probably cuter than any of their's ever were.  ;-)

Thursday - Liam and I built a zoo.  He has lot of animals and several of the same kinds -  like giraffes, elephants, and monkeys.  Liam was really good at letting the animals out of the pens as soon as I built it.

Friday - we got up early and headed to St. Louis for the weekend.  We went to the zoo with my parents.  Liam could have told them that he wanted a real live penguin and I think they would have found a way to make it possible.  ;-)  We had a good time.  I was super excited because I hadn't been to the zoo in several years.  Liam wasn't too interested in the animals.  He was more interested in the animals' toys and all of the people that were also there.  There were so many day camps there and then also seemed like it was a stroller fest.  Of course, we just added to that number of strollers but it was just really crowded there.  We didn't even get to go into the sea lion tunnel thing that I really wanted to go to.  Also, I wanted to show Liam the elephants but the whole River's Edge section was closed off for some sort of special viewing.  That was pretty lame because that's like 1/4 of the park, but we didn't even make it through the rest of the zoo as it was.  We were all getting tired after a couple of hours.  I did try to make friends with a quail.  Ok, so I basically just chased the quail.  If I would have tried hard enough I'm sure I could have caught it, but I was already stretching the rules that say "No harassing the animals".  :-/  But..but...it's just so tiny and cute!

Liam got tired of his stroller every once in awhile so he found the next best place to ride. Although for some reason that is the only way he would wear his hat.
Loving the time he gets to spend with grandpa!
At the monkey house, but Liam is more interested in other things.
We got to see real life Sophies!  ;-)

Saturday - my friend, Darren, got married! Darren has been a good friend of mine since high school.  He has been there for me through many life changes.  He's a great friend to have and one that I know will always be there for Caleb and me.  I'll admit, I was not super excited about traveling to St. Louis this weekend for a wedding after having been in Kansas last weekend for my cousin's wedding.  Liam and I both hadn't really caught back up on sleep and this was just throwing him off of his normal routine again.  However, the wedding was absolutely beautiful and it was well worth the trip.  First of all, the couple is perfect for each other.  They both deserve the best and God has really blessed them with each other.  Also, the ceremony was really nice.  They had the church decorated so cute and the music was phenomenal.  Every part of the wedding was so meaningful.  You couldn't help but have goosebumps as Jamie walked down the aisle to the song "Beautiful things".  Gah. Then at the reception I was able to get to talk to some people that I hadn't seen in awhile.  I had to smile at the number of people who told me that they feel like they know our family from facebook and blog posts.  I'm glad I get to share my life with so many people through these ramblings.  Also,  you would have thought Liam was a celebrity.  So many people wanted to "see him in person".  :-)  What can I say?  I have a cute kid.  I would be the same way if he were someone else's kid.

 Hanging out with my sister.
I got to see my friend, Sam!  She's Darren's niece and she was one of my good friends in high school too.  I had lost contact with her during the past couple of years so I was really excited to get to see her again!

Also, check out this furby in a suit.
He really is a furby. See?

Neil Sneed got the editing done on our family pictures.  I am so excited!!  :-)  He sent me two pictures Friday night while he was in the middle of editing them.  I can't wait to see the rest of them! He does a really awesome job.  He did our engagement pictures and now our family pictures.  You can check out his website here

Also, in college everyone told me that I looked like another girl on campus, Laurey Lehman.  Apparently facebook confuses us too.  Actually a few months ago my nephew saw Laurey at the Farmer's market and thought it was me.  LOL

More pictures:

Liam showing off his new Batman hat from Great Ant.

Liam in what Caleb has dubbed the "Tarzan baby" diaper.
 Tarzan baby face.
Sometimes I look over and see the two of them laying like this on the floor.  Whatever is comfy, I guess.
This was a post on my facebook this week:
(At least most of it was just on his face and bib)
So fuzzy, but he's so cute.
If there's one thing I've learned as a parent, it's that if you hear a crash and nobody is hurt, take a picture first, then help your kid get unstuck.  He was just laying there chilling like this, like he meant to do that.
Liam had two haircuts this week.  I didn't want to completely botch up his hair so I was trying to cut off little bits at a time.  He only sits halfway still for so long, so here was the result after the first.
 And then after the second.
 :-D
I kinda freaked out when I saw this because it's Caleb's magazine and I thought Caleb might have needed it.  Good thing he didn't.
I went grocery shopping on Wednesday.  I had this in the kitchen with the groceries.  Caleb returned it with some extra cargo.
Post-nap sleepies watching his dad play video games.
The world better watch out for the day when Liam is old enough to get in trouble with Jacob.
Storytime the other night before bed.  As you can see, Liam is really good at sitting still these days.
Liam wanted to ship out to go see his grandparents.
Just one more thought on the cloth diapers and then maybe I'll quit telling you about them.  So while I was trying to decide on whether or not to buy them I started doing online surveys/offers to try to earn money to offset the cost of them.  That way if I didn't like them I wouldn't feel so bad.  I used Swagbucks, Bing Rewards, InboxDollars, and erewards.com (you need some sort of special invitation to that site).  Through Swagbucks and Bing I was able to get $20 in Amazon giftcards. I got a $50 starbucks giftcard from erewards, which I then sold to my sister for face value. Then I got $27 in cash from Inboxdollars.  I was a little bit leery of Inboxdollars but my check did come in the mail!  If you have a lot of time on your hands and don't mind some frustration, Inboxdollars could be the website for you to make a little bit of extra cash here and there.  I don't think I will ever persistently work to get a check from them again because it wasn't really worth my time.  However, Swagbucks and Bing Rewards are much easier to use.  I was able to make $97 to use towards cloth diapers and considering that overall I have spent $160 and returned $140 worth of disposable diapers, I have come out well ahead on that deal.  :-)

If you are interested in signing up with any one of those, you can click on those links above and I can get credit for you signing up (and you could be my new best friend). I'm not really trying to promote them, I just wanted to share how I was able to make some money to buy diapers.  :-)
